spring 1999: Muran plateau

This was an atypic trip: because of vejletnik's journeys to Turkey and US and of some new children birth it was postponed from spring to June. Many faces, which had not been seen on vejlet for a long time, were aggravated by the hot weather. The Czech vejletniks (including PF with a dog) have met at Poprad, took a bus to Dobsina-pila and waited there for others.

After some hours a monstrously huge group gathered and started in direction of Radzim. RV & son fell off after a short time, the rest climbed up and ate something. There should be some caves and abysses in the Radzim slope, but we were not in mood to explore them (heat).

The dog (kennel&chain type) suffered a lot by the heat, long walking and presence of many unknown people; MK and national park guard suffered with a presence of the dog (but did not shoot him, probably they had no gun).

From Radzim we followed the mountain range to Stolica (not very much used trail, losing in the wood). We slept directly at Stolica hill (long way to a water source), in the morning some troubles with the dog, eating our food and biting his master.

By the way to Muran we saw some huge bird nearby a table, informing us about eagles occurance here, so that bird was proclaimed an eagle.

By the hut under Muran castle some hysterical row between PF and park guard, then an exploration of the castle, VH, RH, JP leaving into Muran village. The rest of us continuing to Studna (the Well), sleep in a new hut there. The dog howling to the moon.

In the morning to the train: Zbojska, Zavadka.
